Popular Beauty Brand Becca Cosmetics Has Announced Its Closing Down

In the news that will break many hearts, BECCA cosmetics has announced the closing of its brand by September 2021.

The brand has been a titan in the highlighter world for so many years—who amongst us hasn’t covered ourselves in swatches trying to figure out which glow-giver is the perfect one for our skin tone? Their most recognizable collection remains their Champagne Pop collection with youtube Jaclyn Hill.

The brand was bought by Estée Lauder in 2016 and since teamed up with celebrities like Khloe Kardashian and Chrissy Teigen for limited edition collections. Luckily, this is still going to take a couple of months, you might want to consider stocking up on some of your favourites while they’re still available.

The news was made on their Instagram page citing covid as one of the reasons and an update was released on the BECCA website: the brand will be closing down permanently and will no longer be available to shop after September 2021—or until they sell out.

Throughout social media, fans of the brand are responding in shock and dismay”Nooooo!

”This is so sad. I’m so sorry to hear. Covid really sucks… I love your products & will be stocking up on all my faves ❤️,” one commenter wrote on Instagram, while another said, “Wait, what, I can’t live without the under eye corrector 🥺💔.”

Becca was founded in Australia in 2001 by makeup artist Rebecca Morrice Williams and it was first launched in the UK in 2001 which later became known for its natural-looking products like Beach Tint which mimicked the Australian glow. The Shimmering Skin Perfector highlighter has been featured in endless ”monthly favourites” videos during the YouTube beauty guru heyday in the mid-2010s.

We say Valete to BECCA Cosmetics and sending love to all it’s employees. Thanks for the glowy memories.
